chicago's billy tuggle next wednesday
So, slam kids,
It's been a long time. With winter break and Iovino's moving, we haven't had an event in a few months. But it's time to start back up again!
Iovino's is now located in the new condo building (I'm not sure of the exact address) on 1st street downtown, just a few blocks south of its old location.
Our next slam is going to be Wednesday, February 21 - as usual, sign up will start at about 9:00, with the slam beginning a little after 9:30.
And this month, we've got feature poet Billy Tuggle!
"I am a force-sensitive karmadelic, Rastafari, Auquarius, B-Boy, activist, mentor, conductor of the subway conection, do my own stunts and stay crispy in milk. I am a vocalist, spoken word artist and, occassionally an actor. I am a performance poet who has appeared in films, competed in the National Poetry Slam and performed in theatres, clubs, galleries, museums, and streetsides all over North America.
